Shirt Round Neck Ramie is an airier, more summery version of our other Shirts Roundneck. No wonder, as it’s made of a durable blend of 60% extrafine Merino wool (19.5 micron) and 40% ramie, a strong natural fibre from the ramie plant. Giving the T-shirt a subtle linen-like structure, ramie is known for its cooling effect.

Lemon Juice: a crisp soft greenish yellow with hints of white. Zesty for summer.

The Miraculous Micron

Joe uses ultrafine, superfine and extrafine Merino wool for its essentials. The difference is in the micron count. One micron equals one millionth of a metre, and refers to the diameter of the Merino fibre. The lower the micron count, the thinner the fibre, and the softer the wool feels on your skin. The reason? Thin fibres are more flexible, and caress your skin on contact.


Light weight

Joe’s thin pullovers. At 170 to 310 grammes literally lightweight. First level of coziness. The first pullover you get out when seasons change.

Mid weight

A textbook pullover. At 260 to 560 grammes a little heavier and warmer than their thin cousins. Great for autumn and winter.

Heavy weight

Sustainability

Sustainability and Joe go hand in hand. Let us tell you why:

- Joe stands for slow fashion. Meaning we do not bring out seasonal collections, but only styles that will last you all year round for many years. For the same reason we don’t “do” sales and do not keep stocks that must be destroyed by season’s end.

- All our styles are made of Merino wool, if not fully at least partially. Wool is one of the most sustainable materials used for clothing. It is all natural, fully biodegradable, plastic-free and recyclable. And not unimportant – we only use Merino wool produced by non-mulesed sheep.

- When dyeing, we always go for the most sustainable process that uses as few chemicals as possible. Our dyeing process is ‘bluesign’-certified. The lack of chemicals is one of the reasons why our Joes hardly pill.

- All our packaging is made of 100% biodegradable cardboard and recycled and recyclable plastics.

- And lastly: with our fits that are constant and dependable (not so easy with woollen items as you might think) and our smart size calculator we have minimised the number of returns.

What to expect

Shirt Round Neck Ramie is made of a special durable blend of 60% extrafine Merino wool (19.5 micron) and 40% natural ramie. Ramie is a strong natural fibre from the ramie plant. In terms of feel and properties, ramie is comparable to linen. Joe’s ramie shirts have linen’s structure, plus its subtle sheen and cooling effect. Add to that the odour-resistant and temperature-regulating qualities of Merino wool and you have yourself a shirt that is extra soft and comfy with a relaxed fit and a slightly wider sleeve inset. In short: a superior T-shirt for summer.

How to care for Merino wool

Thanks to Merino wool’s antibacterial qualities, you don’t have to wash your Joe very often. Just air your Joe outside for a night, and he will be ready for wear the next day!

Still, we recommend washing your Joe every now and then. You can do this simply and easily on the wool wash cycle in the washing machine (30° maximum, spin cycle no more than 600 rpm). Take a look at the maintenance instructions below for best results.

Take care of your Joe

  1. Wool wash at 30° and 600 rpm max
  2. Use wool detergent, no softeners
  3. No tumble drying
  4. Dry flat
  5. Iron away with a little steam
  6. No bleach
