Brushed Woven Shirt

Joe Brushed Woven Shirt is made of extremely durable Merino wool from the renowned Italian house of fabrics Marzotto Tessuti. With the same slim fit as its Woven Shirt siblings, this dress shirt is finished off with a subtle button under, which makes the collar stand up proud and tall.

The classic grey. Slate grey but definitely not stuffy thanks to the black and light grey accents.

The Miraculous Micron

Joe uses ultrafine, superfine and extrafine Merino wool for its essentials. The difference is in the micron count. One micron equals one millionth of a metre, and refers to the diameter of the Merino fibre. The lower the micron count, the thinner the fibre, and the softer the wool feels on your skin. The reason? Thin fibres are more flexible, and caress your skin on contact.


Light weight

Joe’s thin pullovers. At 170 to 310 grammes literally lightweight. First level of coziness. The first pullover you get out when seasons change.

Mid weight

A textbook pullover. At 260 to 560 grammes a little heavier and warmer than their thin cousins. Great for autumn and winter.

Heavy weight

Our warmest Joes for when temperatures are at their lowest. At 450 to 950 grammes your Joe turns into your personal heater that will help you through any winter.

Returns are free of charge within the EU. There are two ways to return your order:

  1. 1) You can use a carrier of your choice. Please follow the instructions that came with your order.
  2. 2) Go to one of our brick and mortar stores in Amsterdam, Leidschendam, Antwerp or Düsseldorf.

Sustainability

Sustainability and Joe go hand in hand. Let us tell you why:

- Joe stands for slow fashion. Meaning we do not bring out seasonal collections, but only styles that will last you all year round for many years. For the same reason we don’t “do” sales and do not keep stocks that must be destroyed by season’s end.

- All our styles are made of Merino wool, if not fully at least partially. Wool is one of the most sustainable materials used for clothing. It is all natural, fully biodegradable, plastic-free and recyclable. And not unimportant – we only use Merino wool produced by non-mulesed sheep.

- When dyeing, we always go for the most sustainable process that uses as few chemicals as possible. Our dyeing process is ‘bluesign’-certified. The lack of chemicals is one of the reasons why our Joes hardly pill.

- All our packaging is made of 100% biodegradable cardboard and recycled and recyclable plastics.

- And lastly: with our fits that are constant and dependable (not so easy with woollen items as you might think) and our smart size calculator we have minimised the number of returns.

What to expect

Joe Brushed Woven Shirt is just a little softer, just a little thicker and just a little warmer than the other Woven Shirts. Ideal for when the days get colder but you’re just not ready to get those pullovers out. Wear this shirt tucked into your pants, untucked, with or without jacket, button under open or closed. Or under a Joe pullover when you can no longer ignore the cold.

100% superfine merino wool

Joe Brushed Woven Shirt is made of special Merino wool from the renowned Italian house of fabrics Marzotto Tessuti. A natural stretch wrinkle-free fabric, conveniently machine-washable and durable like nobody’s business. The wool has been “brushed”, which gives the fabric the look and feel of flannel. As it is just a little thicker this dress shirt is just a little warmer than the other Woven Shirts. Finished off with exquisite mother of pearl buttons and a subtle button under.

How to care for Merino wool

Thanks to Merino wool’s antibacterial qualities, you don’t have to wash your Joe very often. Just air your Joe outside for a night, and he will be ready for wear the next day!

Still, we recommend washing your Joe every now and then. You can do this simply and easily on the wool wash cycle in the washing machine (30° maximum, spin cycle no more than 600 rpm). Take a look at the maintenance instructions below for best results.

Take care of your Joe

  1. Wool wash at 30° and 600 rpm max
  2. Use wool detergent, no softeners
  3. No tumble drying
  4. Dry flat
  5. Iron away with a little steam
  6. No bleach
