The extra long version of Joe Sock Fine, our comfortable thin woollen sock. Merino wool is perfect for socks: it breathes, is antibacterial and helps wick away sweat and unpleasant odours.

Joe Sock Fine Extra Long are classic socks that perfectly pair with business wear. The socks’ fine knit will give you a sense of luxury. And because they are extralong, you don’t have to worry about exposing your bare legs.

Intensely black as only wool can be. No blend but a rich black. And stays black, doesn’t become dull like cotton sweaters/shirts.

The Miraculous Micron

Joe uses ultrafine, superfine and extrafine Merino wool for its essentials. The difference is in the micron count. One micron equals one millionth of a metre, and refers to the diameter of the Merino fibre. The lower the micron count, the thinner the fibre, and the softer the wool feels on your skin. The reason? Thin fibres are more flexible, and caress your skin on contact.

Delivery is free of charge within the EU. Once your order leaves our warehouse we will send you a Track & Trace code to track your order and the time of delivery.

Returns are free of charge within the EU. There are two ways to return your order:

  1. 1) You can use a carrier of your choice. Please follow the instructions that came with your order.
  2. 2) Go to one of our brick and mortar stores in Amsterdam, Leidschendam, Antwerp or Düsseldorf.

Sustainability

Sustainability and Joe go hand in hand. Let us tell you why:

- Joe stands for slow fashion. Meaning we do not bring out seasonal collections, but only styles that will last you all year round for many years. For the same reason we don’t “do” sales and do not keep stocks that must be destroyed by season’s end.

- All our styles are made of Merino wool, if not fully at least partially. Wool is one of the most sustainable materials used for clothing. It is all natural, fully biodegradable, plastic-free and recyclable. And not unimportant – we only use Merino wool produced by non-mulesed sheep.

- When dyeing, we always go for the most sustainable process that uses as few chemicals as possible. Our dyeing process is ‘bluesign’-certified. The lack of chemicals is one of the reasons why our Joes hardly pill.

- All our packaging is made of 100% biodegradable cardboard and recycled and recyclable plastics.

- And lastly: with our fits that are constant and dependable (not so easy with woollen items as you might think) and our smart size calculator we have minimised the number of returns.

What to expect

Joe Sock Fine Extra Long is a comfortable, extra thin sock that you can wear year-round. Never too warm, never too cold. This Extra Long version is 12 cm longer for added support and comfort.

Machine-washable.

Just one small note of caution: like people, woollen socks do not have eternal life… They are quick victims of wear and tear, and dislike sharp nails. The better you take care of your socks and feet, the longer your socks will serve you well.

Joe Sock is made of a combination of Merino wool, polyamide, polyester and spandex. Polyamide for strength, spandex for flexibility and elasticity and Merino wool for sumptuous softness. With Merino wool accounting for the biggest percentage, the socks never get clammy or smelly.

How to care for Merino wool

Thanks to Merino wool’s antibacterial qualities, you don’t have to wash your Joe very often. Just air your Joe outside for a night, and he will be ready for wear the next day!

Still, we recommend washing your Joe every now and then. You can do this simply and easily on the wool wash cycle in the washing machine (30° maximum, spin cycle no more than 600 rpm). Take a look at the maintenance instructions below for best results.

Take care of your Joe

  1. Wool wash at 30° and 600 rpm max
  2. Use wool detergent, no softeners
  3. No tumble drying
  4. Dry flat
  5. Iron away with a little steam
  6. No bleach
