With an even more relaxed fit and a lapel-like collar that falls open for that airy, sunny look, Joe Wool Linen Shirt Short Sleeve is the summer edition of the Wool Linen Shirt Casual. Made of a rare blend of 50% Merino wool and 50% strong and durable linen (weight 113 gr/m2). Created in cooperation with Zignone, a renowned Italian textile company Zignone, known for its deluxe high-quality fabrics and a strong focus on sustainability and traceability.

The Miraculous Micron

Joe uses ultrafine, superfine and extrafine Merino wool for its essentials. The difference is in the micron count. One micron equals one millionth of a metre, and refers to the diameter of the Merino fibre. The lower the micron count, the thinner the fibre, and the softer the wool feels on your skin. The reason? Thin fibres are more flexible, and caress your skin on contact.


Light weight

Joe’s thin pullovers. At 170 to 310 grammes literally lightweight. First level of coziness. The first pullover you get out when seasons change.

Mid weight

A textbook pullover. At 260 to 560 grammes a little heavier and warmer than their thin cousins. Great for autumn and winter.

Heavy weight

Our warmest Joes for when temperatures are at their lowest. At 450 to 950 grammes your Joe turns into your personal heater that will help you through any winter.

Returns are free of charge within the EU. There are two ways to return your order:

  1. 1) You can use a carrier of your choice. Please follow the instructions that came with your order.
  2. 2) Go to one of our brick and mortar stores in Amsterdam, Leidschendam, Antwerp or Düsseldorf.

Sustainability

Sustainability and Joe go hand in hand. Let us tell you why:

- Joe stands for slow fashion. Meaning we do not bring out seasonal collections, but only styles that will last you all year round for many years. For the same reason we don’t “do” sales and do not keep stocks that must be destroyed by season’s end.

- All our styles are made of Merino wool, if not fully at least partially. Wool is one of the most sustainable materials used for clothing. It is all natural, fully biodegradable, plastic-free and recyclable. And not unimportant – we only use Merino wool produced by non-mulesed sheep.

- When dyeing, we always go for the most sustainable process that uses as few chemicals as possible. Our dyeing process is ‘bluesign’-certified. The lack of chemicals is one of the reasons why our Joes hardly pill.

- All our packaging is made of 100% biodegradable cardboard and recycled and recyclable plastics.

- And lastly: with our fits that are constant and dependable (not so easy with woollen items as you might think) and our smart size calculator we have minimised the number of returns.

What to expect

Joe Wool Linen Shirt Short Sleeve has a relaxed fit and a lapel-like collar that falls open. The light and stretchy mix of wool and linen gives off the characteristic look of airy linen, but the addition of Merino wool makes for a more luxurious feel and guarantees that the shirt does not fade or lose its shape. Less wrinkly than a shirt of 100% linen, but still with the casual charm of linen’s natural creases. As soon as you put on this shirt, you will feel ready for summer. The perfect companion to Joe Shorts Woven. Or even your favourite pair of swim trunks.

50% super fine Merino wool, 50% linen

The Piemonte-based company Zignone weaves this fabric out of 50% strong and durable linen and 50% super fine Merino wool. An extraordinary mix that creates a linen with the characteristic creases but with the advantages of Merino wool. Less wrinkles, no fading and no shape-shifting! The wool was awarded the RWS label (Responsible Wool Standard) and the linen received the European FlexTM- certificate.

How to care for Merino wool

Despite the linen, Joe Linen Woven Shirt needs no more care than any other Joe. The antibacterial properties of the Merino wool will keep your Joe Linen Woven Shirt fresh for a long while without washing. Airing overnight is usually enough to get rid of any odours.

But it can’t hurt to wash your dress shirt occasionally. It’s easy: use the wool setting on your washing machine (max 30°, max 600 rpm).

Because of the Merino wool, your shirt will shrink less. Touch up with an iron and presto. Read the care instructions below and you can’t go wrong.

Take care of your Joe

  1. Wool wash at 30° and max 600 rpm
  2. Use wool detergent, no softeners
  3. No tumble dryer (could be deadly)
  4. Dry flat
  5. Iron away with a little steam
  6. No bleach, this will kill the colour
