Are your basics in order?
Below are some suggestions. We're happy to include them in the same package. How sustainable!
What to Expect
Like its ships mate, the Sailor Crew, the Sailor Zip is a substantial pullover that weighs an impressive 800 grams. This Sailor comes with a robust stand-up collar and a hidden zipper. Fits snugly thanks to the fine ribbed knit. The characteristic raglan sleeves add to the solid look.
Joe Sailor Zip is just a bit thicker than Joe Zip but a bit thinner than Joe Sail. Wear with the zipper open over T-shirt or a dress shirt. Or close (hide!) the zipper for a more refined look.
100% Extra Fine Merino Wool
The extra fine Merino wool Joe uses is about 19.5 micron thick. The structure and fineness of our Merino wool are the reasons our Joes feel soft and are not prickly.
Merino wool is praised world wide for its softness, strength, breathability and temperature regulating benefits. In addition, merino wool is 100% natural, renewable and biodegradable. All these beautiful natural properties make merino wool an extremely comfortable fabric to wear. Perfect for all seasons!
How to care for Merino Wool
Thanks to Merino wool’s antibacterial qualities, you don’t have to wash your Joe very often. Just air your Joe outside for a night, and he will be ready for wear the next day!
Still, we recommend washing your Joe every now and then. You can do this simply and easily on the wool wash cycle in the washing machine
(30° maximum, spin cycle no more than 600 rpm).
A word of warning about washing: Don’t wash this pullover all by its lonesome self, but throw in a couple of other wool items.
Because of its weight and the low spin speed for wool, the pullover cannot make the necessary RPM and will come out of the washer soaking wet and will take forever to dry.
And who wants to wait that long before they can put on their Joe again?
Take a look at the maintenance instructions below for best results.
Take care of your Joe
-
Woolwash at 30° and 600 rpm max
-
Use wool detergent, no softeners
-
No tumbledry (could be deadly)
-
Dry flat
-
Iron away with a little steam
-
No bleach, this will kill the colour
