JOE UNDER FINE

The perfect woollen undershirt. Merino wool is breathable, and helps prevent transpiration and unpleasant smells. Nothing better to wear directly on the skin. This version is slightly thinner and for that reason slightly warm than our Joe Under.

An intensely deep dark blue colour that combines elegant black with trusty tasteful navy. There’s a reason the big Italian fashion houses always include this colour in their collections.

The Miraculous Micron

Joe uses ultrafine, superfine and extrafine Merino wool for its essentials. The difference is in the micron count. One micron equals one millionth of a metre, and refers to the diameter of the Merino fibre. The lower the micron count, the thinner the fibre, and the softer the wool feels on your skin. The reason? Thin fibres are more flexible, and caress your skin on contact.


Light weight

Joe’s thin pullovers. At 170 to 310 grammes literally lightweight. First level of coziness. The first pullover you get out when seasons change.

Mid weight

A textbook pullover. At 260 to 560 grammes a little heavier and warmer than their thin cousins. Great for autumn and winter.

Heavy weight

Sustainability

Sustainability and Joe go hand in hand. Let us tell you why:

- Joe stands for slow fashion. Meaning we do not bring out seasonal collections, but only styles that will last you all year round for many years. For the same reason we don’t “do” sales and do not keep stocks that must be destroyed by season’s end.

- All our styles are made of Merino wool, if not fully at least partially. Wool is one of the most sustainable materials used for clothing. It is all natural, fully biodegradable, plastic-free and recyclable. And not unimportant – we only use Merino wool produced by non-mulesed sheep.

- When dyeing, we always go for the most sustainable process that uses as few chemicals as possible. Our dyeing process is ‘bluesign’-certified. The lack of chemicals is one of the reasons why our Joes hardly pill.

- All our packaging is made of 100% biodegradable cardboard and recycled and recyclable plastics.

- And lastly: with our fits that are constant and dependable (not so easy with woollen items as you might think) and our smart size calculator we have minimised the number of returns.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Joe Under Fine is the ideal base layer. Comfortably warm but not as warm as Joe Under. Also a little less tightly fitted than Joe Under. But like Joe Under, the Merino wool helps regulate your temperature, prevent transpiration and unpleasant smells. Because of the lower V-neck, Joe Under Fine is great (and invisible) for under a dress shirt.

CORE SPUN MERINO WOOL

Our Joe Boxershorts has been made using a new spinning technology: Core Spun. This spinning method creates extra elasticity and strength. The yarn’s core is made up of polyamide, wrapped entirely in extra soft Merino wool. This makes the Joe Boxershorts sturdy but stretchy, without affecting wearing comfort.

Merino wool is praised world wide for its softness, strength, breathability and temperature regulating benefits. In addition, merino wool is 100% natural, renewable and biodegradable. All these beautiful natural properties make merino wool an extremely comfortable fabric to wear. Perfect for all seasons!

How to care for Merino wool

Thanks to Merino wool’s antibacterial qualities, you don’t have to wash your Joe very often. Just air your Joe outside for a night, and he will be ready for wear the next day!

Still, we recommend washing your Joe every now and then. You can do this simply and easily on the wool wash cycle in the washing machine (30° maximum, spin cycle no more than 600 rpm). Take a look at the maintenance instructions below for best results.

Take care of your Joe

  1. Wool wash at 30° and 600 rpm max
  2. Use wool detergent, no softeners
  3. No tumble drying
  4. Dry flat
  5. Iron away with a little steam
  6. No bleach
