Cardigan 2-Way Zip

Joe Cardigan 2-Way Zip is the cardigan version of our much-valued Joe Zip. Just as thick and just as stylish thanks to the sumptuous 2-ply knit (two strands of yarn twisted together). A little less thick than Joe Ribzip. Made of 100% extra fine Merino wool (19.5 micron) and a nicely polished gun metal two-way zipper.

By far our best-selling colour, throughout the seasons. Deep dark blue with underlying pale blue and black accents. This makes it a very intense colour that will never fade. Not every colour suits every type of man but this one does.

 The Miraculous Micron

Joe uses ultrafine, superfine and extrafine Merino wool for its essentials. The difference is in the micron count. One micron equals one millionth of a metre, and refers to the diameter of the Merino fibre. The lower the micron count, the thinner the fibre, and the softer the wool feels on your skin. The reason? Thin fibres are more flexible, and caress your skin on contact.

Returns | 100-day return period

Returns are free of charge within the EU. There are two ways to return your order:

  1. 1) You can use a carrier of your choice. Please follow the instructions that came with your order.
  2. 2) Go to one of our brick and mortar stores in Amsterdam, Leidschendam, Antwerp or Düsseldorf.

Sustainability

Sustainability and Joe go hand in hand. Let us tell you why:

- Joe stands for slow fashion. Meaning we do not bring out seasonal collections, but only styles that will last you all year round for many years. For the same reason we don’t “do” sales and do not keep stocks that must be destroyed by season’s end.

- All our styles are made of Merino wool, if not fully at least partially. Wool is one of the most sustainable materials used for clothing. It is all natural, fully biodegradable, plastic-free and recyclable. And not unimportant – we only use Merino wool produced by non-mulesed sheep.

- When dyeing, we always go for the most sustainable process that uses as few chemicals as possible. Our dyeing process is ‘bluesign’-certified. The lack of chemicals is one of the reasons why our Joes hardly pill.

- All our packaging is made of 100% biodegradable cardboard and recycled and recyclable plastics.

- And lastly: with our fits that are constant and dependable (not so easy with woollen items as you might think) and our smart size calculator we have minimised the number of returns.

What to expect?

Joe Cardigan 2-Way is a just thick enough cardigan that can be worn in a variety of ways, also thanks to that nifty two-way zipper. Dressy over a dress shirt or more casual over a T-shirt. Closed, open, or something in between. For a more elegant look, you can unzip the lower half. This is also the way to be more comfortable when sitting down. On your bicycle, in the car or at the dinner table.

100% EXTRA FINE MERINO WOOL

The extra fine Merino wool Joe uses is about 19.5 micron thick. The structure and fineness of our Merino wool are the reasons our Joes feel soft and are not prickly.

Merino wool is praised world wide for its softness, strength, breathability and temperature regulating benefits. In addition, merino wool is 100% natural, renewable and biodegradable. How to care for Merino wool

Thanks to Merino wool’s antibacterial qualities, you don’t have to wash your Joe very often. Just air your Joe outside for a night, and he will be ready for wear the next day!

Still, we recommend washing your Joe every now and then. You can do this simply and easily on the wool wash cycle in the washing machine (30° maximum, spin cycle no more than 600 rpm). Take a look at the maintenance instructions below for best results.

Take care of your Joe

  1. Wool wash at 30° and 600 rpm max
  2. Use wool detergent, no softeners
  3. No tumble drying
  4. Dry flat
  5. Iron away with a little steam
  6. No bleach
